The National System to Prevent, Address, Punish, and Eradicate Violence against Women (SNPASEVM) is an inter-institutional mechanism in Mexico established in 2007 to coordinate efforts, policies, and actions to guarantee women's right to a life free of violence. Based on the General Law on Women's Access to a Life Free of Violence (LGAMVLV) passed the same year, SNPASEVM establishes that it must hold regular sessions at least three times a year, without prejudice to extraordinary sessions. Similarly, the Regulations for the Operation of the National System for the Prevention, Response, Punishment, and Eradication of Violence against Women establish the operating rules for this System for its constituent bodies. This system focuses on preventing, addressing, punishing, and eradicating violence against women through the implementation of various programs and actions.

As part of SNPASEVM, the Comprehensive Model for Primary Prevention of Violence was approved in 2021, which serves as a guidance document to help change sociocultural patterns and transform the way women and men relate to each other in spaces such as schools, workplaces, communities, public spaces, and the media, among others.

In the same year, the Comprehensive Care and Protection Model for Women Experiencing Violence was approved, with the aim of establishing the minimum elements, guidelines, and orientations for providing specialized care and comprehensive protection to women, girls, and adolescents who face violence. This model describes the technical guidelines and orientations that should govern essential services to detect, respond to, refer, and provide continuous and comprehensive support to women, girls, and adolescents who experience violence.

In 2022, the Comprehensive Model for the Punishment of Violence against Women was approved. This model is an instrument to strengthen the jurisdictional and administrative mechanisms of the three levels of government in order to establish effective legal consequences for those who commit acts of violence against women and to guarantee effective access to comprehensive reparation for victims.

El Sistema Nacional para Prevenir, Atender, Sancionar y Erradicar la Violencia contra las Mujeres (SNPASEVM) es un mecanismo interinstitucional de México establecido en 2007 para coordinar esfuerzos, políticas y acciones que garanticen el derecho de las mujeres a una vida libre de violencia. Basado en la Ley General para que las Mujeres Tengan Acceso a una Vida Libre de Violencia (LGAMVLV), aprobada ese mismo año, el SNPASEVM establece que debe celebrar sesiones ordinarias al menos tres veces al año, sin perjuicio de sesiones extraordinarias. Del mismo modo, el Reglamento de Funcionamiento del Sistema Nacional para la Prevención, Atención, Castigo y Erradicación de la Violencia contra las Mujeres establece las normas de funcionamiento de este Sistema para sus órganos constitutivos. Este sistema se centra en prevenir, atender, castigar y erradicar la violencia contra las mujeres mediante la implementación de diversos programas y acciones.

Como parte del SNPASEVM, en 2021 se aprobó el Modelo Integral de Prevención Primaria de la Violencia, que sirve como documento de orientación para ayudar a cambiar los patrones socioculturales y transformar la forma en que las mujeres y los hombres se relacionan entre sí en espacios como las escuelas, los lugares de trabajo, las comunidades, los espacios públicos y los medios de comunicación, entre otros.

En el mismo año se aprobó el Modelo Integral de Atención y Protección a las Mujeres Víctimas de la Violencia, con el objetivo de establecer los elementos mínimos, las directrices y las orientaciones para prestar atención especializada y protección integral a las mujeres, las niñas y las adolescentes que enfrentan la violencia. Este modelo describe las directrices técnicas y las orientaciones que deben regir los servicios esenciales para detectar, responder, derivar y brindar apoyo continuo e integral a las mujeres, las niñas y las adolescentes que sufren violencia.

En 2022 se aprobó el Modelo Integral de Sanción de la Violencia contra las Mujeres. Este modelo es un instrumento para fortalecer los mecanismos jurisdiccionales y administrativos de los tres niveles de gobierno con el fin de establecer consecuencias jurídicas efectivas para quienes cometen actos de violencia contra las mujeres y garantizar el acceso efectivo de las víctimas a una reparación integral.
